Gloria Clayton: Administrator
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School ( she won’t tell the year) and went into the banking field for 10 years. She credits that time to learning the importance of customer service. These services range from a smile at the front door, to an easy payment plan that allows the patient to have the necessary work needed without unnecessary stress.
While in the banking business, Gloria met her husband, Jim, where the two of them married and were soon transferred to Tuscaloosa. That was over twenty years ago. At that time, she was a stay at home Mom who decided she needed something more in life. So, she decided to work part-time and it just so happened that Dr. Davis needed a part-time person to help in his office. Knowing nothing about the dental field, Gloria grew from that part-time person, to seventeen years later, being one of the most proficient Practice Administrators around.
When asked how she has done it for so long, her comment is always the same. “My love of dentistry is due to the relationship I have developed with all of our patients, my wonderful group of team members and mostly my sincere admiration and respect for Drs. Davis, Marshall and Shofner. I realize how lucky I am to feel so passionate about my career choice and hope that this translates everyday to everyone I come in contact with.”
Our dental hygenists are the teachers of our practice. Not only do they teach and instruct patients on good oral hygiene, but they clean and treat teeth and gums, remove stains and plaque, take and develop dental x-rays. These teachers of our practice prepare the infomraiton for the dentist to make precise and accurate diagnosis of your mouth. It is their expertise that helps us become not only a great team, but one of instruction.
Our dental assistants are some of the most experienced assistants you will find. Their job is to work chair side along with the dentist as they examine and treat patients. Our assistants pride themselves on making sure the patient is comfortable as well as relaxed. From handing instruments to the dentists to taking x-rays, from preparing the patient for the dentist, to removing excess cement used in the filling process, our assistants again help round out our professional team.
We at the Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry pride ourselves in having some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable receptionists you can find. It is their job to be there for you, the patient. It is their caring voice that will answer the phone when your mouth doesn’t feel so good or when you just want your teeth cleaned. It is their smiling face that will greet you when you arrive and wave goodbye as you leave. It is their kind souls that convinced us to make them apart of our team.
